March and March, a controversial anti-migrant group in South Africa, has issued a fresh deadline of September 30, 2026, for undocumented migrants to leave the country.
The group made the announcement during a demonstration tagged “It’s Time to Fetch Your People”, urging Southern African Development Community (SADC) leaders to prepare for the mass deportation of undocumented foreign nationals.
March and March accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of failing to adequately address its concerns and called for tougher measures against undocumented migrants.
The group’s spokesperson, Sandile Dube, said members would protest outside the ongoing SADC summit in South Africa.
Dube described the planned action as a second wave of its June 30 protest, calling on South Africans to report suspected criminal activities to the police and other law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, Ramaphosa has condemned discrimination and mistreatment of foreign nationals, saying South Africa cannot pursue stronger regional ties while people from neighbouring countries face intimidation and violence.
Immigration tensions have intensified in South Africa since April, prompting some African countries, including Nigeria, to repatriate their citizens. South African authorities have also reported the deportation of more than 100,000 foreigners.
