Popular Lagos-based TikTok creator and livestream personality Hamzat Habeeb, widely known as Peller, has been hospitalised after deliberately crashing his vehicle while live on TikTok along the Lekki–Epe Expressway.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday during a highly shared livestream titled “RIP Peller.” At the time, the influencer was alone in his newly acquired Mercedes-Benz.
Viewers of the livestream observed that Peller appeared emotionally distressed and was engaged in an intense phone conversation, believed to be with his girlfriend, Jarvis, amid circulating rumours of a possible breakup. During the broadcast, he made several alarming statements suggesting self-harm, repeatedly expressing fear and emotional pain.
Moments later, the livestream showed him driving off before crashing the car into a stone barrier, leaving the vehicle badly damaged. Subsequent videos shared online captured bystanders quickly rushing to his aid before he was taken to a hospital for medical attention.
As of the time of reporting, details regarding the severity of his injuries have not been officially confirmed. Photos circulating on social media show extensive damage to the luxury vehicle, highlighting the seriousness of the crash.
The incident has triggered widespread reactions across social media, with fans and concerned users urging stronger mental health awareness and support, especially for online content creators facing public pressure.
When contacted, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the police were still awaiting full details from the Divisional Police Officer in the area and would provide updates in due course.
The development has also revived memories of an earlier incident in August, when the 20-year-old influencer was reportedly abducted by armed men while livestreaming on TikTok. In widely circulated footage, he appeared to initially mistake the men for security operatives before being taken away.
