Nigerian global music star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has added another major honour to his career after winning the “Best Continental Male Songwriter Africa” award at the EAEA 2025 Awards.
The prestigious ceremony, which celebrates musical excellence across the continent, recognised Wizkid for his outstanding songwriting influence, lyrical depth, and consistent contribution to shaping African sound on the global stage.
According to organisers of the EAEA Awards, Wizkid’s body of work over the past year demonstrated exceptional creativity and cultural impact, earning him top votes from both the judges and music audiences across Africa.
Industry watchers say the win further cements Wizkid’s position as one of Africa’s most influential artists, especially as he continues to blend Afrobeats with global contemporary sounds in a way that resonates internationally.
In his acceptance speech, delivered through his team, Wizkid thanked his fans, collaborators, and the African music community, noting that the recognition inspires him to “keep pushing the boundaries of African music worldwide.”
