2027: Young lady announces plan to run for president against Tinubu, unveils political party

A young Nigerian, Onuoha Juliet, has formally declared her intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.

She announced that she will run on the platform of the Youth Party, describing her ambition as a generational movement centered on youth inclusion, economic transformation, and national development.

Her declaration potentially sets up a contest with incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other aspirants expected to join the 2027 race.

A New Vision for Nigeria

In a statement unveiling her candidacy, Juliet said her goal is to move Nigeria “from potential to prosperity” by placing young people’s energy, creativity, and integrity at the heart of governance.

“I am Onuoha Juliet, and I am officially declaring my intention to run for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2027 under the Youth Party. Our mission is simple: to move from potential to prosperity by putting the energy, innovation, and integrity of the youth at the forefront of governance,” she stated.

She added that the country needs a fresh direction and renewed leadership, declaring, “It’s time for a new vision. It’s time for new leadership. It’s time for us.”

Focus on Economy, Youth and Security

In a broader message to Nigerians, Juliet said her aspiration goes beyond personal ambition, describing it as a movement aimed at redefining the nation’s future.

She outlined priorities including job creation, economic reforms, women’s empowerment, support for small businesses, improved security, and stable electricity. According to her, Nigeria’s vast resources and resilient citizens should translate into improved living standards.

“Nigeria is blessed—with oil, talent, and resilient people who refuse to give up. Yet too many are merely surviving instead of truly living. Too many dreams are stalled by poor leadership, corruption, insecurity, and economic hardship. It doesn’t have to be this way,” she said.

Promises of Reform

Juliet pledged to implement governance reforms anchored on transparency and technology-driven anti-corruption measures. She also promised investment in agriculture to strengthen food security and policies aimed at boosting local production.

“We will build a Nigeria where electricity is reliable, education is modern and accessible, healthcare is affordable, the Naira is respected, and hard work is rewarded,” she affirmed.

She stressed that her campaign is focused on national progress rather than ethnic, religious, or partisan interests. “This campaign is not about tribe. It is not about religion. It is not about party. It is about progress,” she said.

Call for Unity Ahead of 2027

Reaching out to young people, women, entrepreneurs, and citizens who feel disillusioned, Juliet urged collective action ahead of the next general election.

“2027 is not just another election year—it is our reset year. Let us rise together, rebuild together, and restore dignity, prosperity, and pride. The Nigeria we dream of is possible. The Nigeria we deserve is achievable. The Nigeria we will build starts now,” she declared.
