Afrobeats star Davido has been announced as one of the headline acts for the official opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), joining an impressive lineup that features French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’Z, and Lartiste.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) made the announcement on Thursday, December 18, 2025, as part of events marking the start of Africa’s biggest football tournament. CAF disclosed that the concert will take place on Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, running from 6:00 p.m. to midnight local time.
The show will be open to fans, with free entry available to holders of Fan IDs and match tickets, serving as an exciting prelude to the tournament’s opening games.
Davido’s appearance further reinforces his status as a go-to performer for major international sporting events. Earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated artiste performed at Nigeria’s National Sports Festival in Abeokuta. He has also graced the stage at the 2017 AFCON opening ceremony, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
He will be joined at the AFCON opening concert by Moroccan-American rapper French Montana, as well as Lartiste, Douaa Lahyaoui, and Says’Z.
