Former Real Madrid star Wesley Sneijder has named Kylian Mbappe as the leading contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or following a sensational start at Real Madrid.
Now the centerpiece of Real Madrid’s attack, Mbappe is enjoying an impressive debut season in Spain, having contributed 26 goals in just 19 appearances across all competitions.
In an interview with Marca, Sneijder expressed full confidence in the French superstar’s forthcoming Ballon d’Or triumph, highlighting his transformation into a central striker as a major factor.
Mbappé will win it next season, 100%,” Sneijder declared. “Besides, he’s now become a true striker, he performs better than on the wing, and Real Madrid doesn’t need a player like Haaland.”
