Davido has officially confirmed that a full-length collaborative project with American R&B superstar Chris Brown is in the works. The Afrobeats star, popularly known as OBO, made the revelation during an exclusive interview with Billboard Arabia for its January 2026 cover story. The joint project, slated for release in 2026, builds on the duo’s long-standing friendship and musical chemistry, sparking excitement across social media.
Speaking in the interview, Davido reflected on his rise from local beginnings to global recognition before casually announcing the collaboration. “I have a project with Chris Brown, by the grace of God, coming out next year,” he said.
Davido has previously hinted that he and the two-time Grammy winner have already recorded more than 20 songs for the album. He further fueled anticipation during an appearance on The Ebro Show on Apple Music, revealing that enough material exists for multiple projects. “We could put out two albums right now. It’s going to happen. I really wanted him to have his moment this year. Then next year, the Europe and African tour with the Davido & Chris Brown album,” he said.
The upcoming album is expected to deliver a rich fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop—genres the pair have successfully blended over the years. Davido is currently enjoying the success of his fifth studio album, 5IVE, which includes “Titanium,” his latest collaboration with Chris Brown.
Although Chris Brown’s team has yet to release detailed comments on the project, anticipation continues to build. The collaboration underscores Davido’s drive to further globalize Afrobeats while highlighting Chris Brown’s continued openness to diverse musical influences.
