A deeply emotional scene has surfaced from Benue State, where an elderly man was captured in tears after narrowly surviving an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
In a viral video posted on X by @ChuksericE, the distraught man—now displaced and visibly traumatized—recounted how the attackers killed members of his family and destroyed their farmlands, wiping out the crops they relied on for food and livelihood.
Sharing his ordeal, he said:
“Fulani herdsmen killed my people and destroyed the crops and farmland my family depended on for food. Now we have nothing left to eat. I live in a family house in the village which has now become a camp. There are more than 200 people staying there, all from the same family.”
According to him, he and more than 200 members of his extended family had been living in a crowded family compound—now serving as an improvised camp—before the deadly attack that left them homeless and struggling for survival.
