“Her daughter will do worse” — Man cancels wedding after mother-in-law yelled at her husband in public

A man has sparked heated reactions online after explaining why he called off his wedding on the very day it was meant to take place.

The account, first posted on X (formerly Twitter), detailed how one moment at the ceremony venue led him to reconsider the marriage.

According to him, the issue arose during preparations for family photos. He said his bride’s mother publicly scolded her husband for falling behind.

The groom said the way she addressed her husband deeply unsettled him.

“On my wedding day, my wife’s mother yelled at her husband because he was lagging behind for family pictures,” he wrote.

He explained that the episode made him anxious about what his own future might look like.

“I pulled my best man aside and told him I was cancelling the wedding. If her mother could speak to her husband like that in public, I fear her daughter—my wife—might act even worse,” he stated.

The man said he came up with a quick excuse to exit the venue quietly.

“I pretended to receive an urgent call and said I needed to step out to get the ring,” he wrote.

After leaving, he switched off his phone, effectively ending the ceremony before it began.

Turned off my phone. Till the next day. The marriage ended,” he added.
