Popular Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has publicly shared a powerful testimony detailing her freedom from smoking, alcohol dependency, masturbation, and long-standing anger issues during a Sunday worship service at Streams of Joy International Church.
The testimony was delivered during the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) service, led by the church’s founder, Pastor Jerry Eze, and was later published in a video by DCLImagery on YouTube.
Addressing the congregation, Dikeh revealed that she began smoking at just 13 years old and battled substance use and personal struggles for several years. She credited her transformation to what she described as divine intervention through prayer and faith.
She explained that her appearance at the altar was both an act of thanksgiving and a declaration of victory, despite initial fears about public perception.
According to the actress, attending the Ghana Prayer Conference marked a significant turning point in her spiritual life, bringing an end to what she described as years of spiritual oppression.
Dikeh also opened up about her struggle with intense anger, which she said negatively impacted her personal relationships and emotional wellbeing. She noted that consistent prayers through NSPPD helped her experience peace for the first time in her life.
Now 40 years old, the actress said she is finally living in a place of calm and emotional stability she had never known before.
Reflecting on her smoking habit, which lasted approximately 27 years, Dikeh attributed its origin to early exposure at home and encouraged parents to be mindful of habits their children may emulate.
She further stated that after seeking divine help, she no longer experiences cravings for cigarettes or alcohol, describing the change as complete and lasting.
Pastor Jerry Eze later prayed for the actress during the service, declaring her free from past struggles and describing her as an influential voice in her generation.
Following the service, Dikeh shared photos from the church on her Instagram page, captioning them as a testament to mercy, restoration, and renewed purpose.
In recent months, the actress has consistently spoken about her renewed Christian faith, describing her spiritual journey as one characterized by peace, healing, and dedication to serving God.
