A man in Florida has been accused of fatally shooting three tourists after they were stranded at a vacation rental in a community popular with visitors to Walt Disney World Resort.
Authorities identified the suspect as 29-year-old Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, who was arrested on Saturday in Kissimmee for what Osceola County Sheriff Christopher Blackmon described as a “cold-blooded” killing. The victims were staying at a rental property next to Bojeh’s home.
According to the sheriff, police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at a property on Indian Point Circle in the Indian Hills subdivision at about 12:14 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found three men dead from gunshot wounds in the yard and immediately called for additional support.
Two of the victims were identified as brothers Robert Lewis Kraft, 70, of Holland, Michigan, and Douglas Joseph Kraft, 68, of Columbus, Ohio. The third victim was a 68-year-old friend from Ohio whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Roughly an hour after the shooting, officers located Bojeh inside his nearby home and arrested him. He has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
Sheriff Blackmon said investigators found no prior dispute or interaction between the suspect and the victims, describing the attack as random and premeditated. “There was absolutely no conflict between these people,” he said.
Two firearms were recovered from Bojeh’s residence after police executed a search warrant, and authorities are working to determine whether either weapon was used in the killings.
Investigators said the tourists had been forced to extend their stay at the rental property due to vehicle problems. One other member of the group had already left the day before the shooting. Details about how long the men had been staying in the area or what they were doing there remain unclear.
Blackmon described Bojeh as a troubled individual with a history of frequent interactions with law enforcement. Court records show he was arrested in 2021 after firing at a person and several vehicles at a Kissimmee gas station, injuring one man. He was later found not guilty by reason of insanity in that case.
A judge has ordered Bojeh to be held without bond at the Osceola County Jail as the investigation continues.
