Screenshots circulating online have ignited widespread debate after a young entrepreneur’s request for business funding took a turn that many have described as “disturbing” and “highly inappropriate.”
Shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user, the screenshots capture a conversation between a nephew and his uncle, in which the nephew asked for N500,000 to launch a business venture.
What started as a simple plea for family support quickly escalated into a tense exchange that has left social media users questioning the uncle’s intentions.
Instead of a supportive response, the uncle reacted with hostility, dismissing the nephew’s ambition and calling him “very stupid” for only reaching out when he needed financial help.
He further confronted the young man, asking, “When last did you check on me that you somehow deem it fit to ask me for money?”
Despite the harsh rebuff, the nephew remained respectful, apologizing and offering a 20% interest rate on the loan to prove his commitment to the business.
The tone of the conversation shifted abruptly when the uncle seemingly agreed to provide the funds—but with specific, unusual conditions. Instead of a simple bank transfer, the uncle insisted that the nephew come to his house in person.
