Mariah Carey is set to receive a festive windfall after a judge ordered over $92,000 in sanctions against the parties who sued her over her hit Christmas song.
Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that the lawsuit, filed by Andy Stone and Troy Powers in November 2023, was found to lack merit. The judge determined the sanctions were necessary to discourage frivolous legal actions. Mariah was awarded $92,303.20, with additional fees for other involved parties bringing the total close to $110,000. Stone and Powers had sought at least $20 million, claiming she copied their 1989 song, All I Want For Christmas Is You, but the case was dismissed in March.
