A Nigerian woman has appealed for help after accusing her boyfriend of blackmailing her with intimate videos.
Identified as Ijeoma Patricia Ogoh, she took to Facebook to share her ordeal, claiming that a man she had been dating for several months secretly recorded their private moments and later demanded money from her.
Alleged Secret Recording
Ogoh explained that during a visit to her boyfriend, she spent time together and left for home, unaware of anything amiss. However, while on her way back, he sent her a video on WhatsApp. She waited until she got home to view it.
To her shock, the clip showed a private moment between them. The situation worsened when a voice note followed, in which he allegedly threatened her.
₦2 Million Demand
According to Ogoh, the man demanded two million naira, threatening to share the video with her family if she failed to pay. She claimed he even checked her Facebook page to gather the names of her siblings, uncles, and aunties and promised to send the clip to them. She said he had already sent the video to her sister.
Fear and Uncertainty
Ogoh revealed that her sister tried involving local youths to confront the man, but they faced a challenge: she doesn’t know where he lives, as he always met her at different apartments. She also said she offered to pay two hundred thousand naira instead, but he allegedly responded by sending another, more embarrassing video.
In her post, she shared her distress:
“I went to see my boyfriend I’ve been dating for some months. After spending time together, I was on my way home when I noticed a video he sent on WhatsApp. When I finally opened it, I saw a video of me making out with him. At first, I thought he was being playful, until I heard the voice note that came after.
The man threatened to share the clip with all my family members if I didn’t pay him two million naira. He even went through my Facebook page to get the names of my siblings, uncles, and aunties. He has already sent the video to my sister.
I begged him to accept two hundred thousand instead, but he sent another, more explicit clip. I don’t know how to get out of this mess. Help me. This is serious.”
Her post has since gone viral, sparking concern online, with many urging her to report the incident to the authorities.
