American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine (real name Daniel Hernandez) turned himself in on Tuesday, January 6, to begin serving a three‑month (90‑day) prison sentence at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, the same federal jail where Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife are being held.
His surrender was prearranged for 2 p.m., and he reported to the facility after violating the terms of his supervised release tied to a 2018 federal racketeering case in which he had pleaded guilty and testified against others.
