Nigerian singer Skales has shared a heartfelt testimony about how 2025 became a turning point in his career, crediting a viral moment featuring Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal for revitalizing his fortunes.
Speaking at Harvesters Church, Skales recounted starting the year with intense prayers and fasting, describing it as the most spiritually demanding period of his life. He revealed that he had written down seven specific prayer points, all of which were answered in a single day. The breakthrough came when a video of Yamal dancing to Skales’ 2015 hit “Shake Body” went viral, reigniting public interest in his music.
The viral clip brought renewed attention to his career, leading to invitations to perform at exclusive events like Barcelona’s Copa del Rey celebration and inspiring a new tribute song, “Dance Like Lamine Yamal.” Reflecting on the experience, Skales said, “Earlier this year, I prayed and fasted like never before, asking God to bless me because my career looked like it was being laughed at. Then this kid in Barcelona danced to my song, and everything changed.”
