Racheal Okonkwo has responded to remarks by fellow Nollywood actor Zubby Michael suggesting that her success and wealth may be discouraging potential suitors.
During a lighthearted conversation, Zubby joked that the actress might have intimidated men due to her ownership of multiple properties, adding humorously that she would attend Shiloh tirelessly.
Reacting, Okonkwo pushed back, recalling her humble beginnings before fame. She reflected on her past struggles, including roasting corn in Nsukka and dancing to earn a living.
“I’m not looking for a poverty-alleviation relationship,” she said, questioning why men didn’t approach her when she had little.
The actress emphasized that her achievements came through hard work and dedication, noting that any suitable partner should value her journey rather than feel threatened by it. Her response has since drawn praise online, with many fans applauding her stance.
