Another batch of 271 Nigerians has been successfully evacuated from South Africa and returned to Nigeria.
The evacuees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday morning, July 3, aboard a flight from South Africa.
This marks the fourth evacuation exercise conducted by the Federal Government since the outbreak of anti-immigrant protests in South Africa.
The protests saw aggrieved citizens demanding that undocumented foreigners leave the country, accusing them of taking local jobs and contributing to rising crime rates.
With the latest arrival, a total of 874 stranded Nigerians have so far been repatriated from South Africa.
