The Kogi State Government has confirmed that a rescued kidnapping victim has given birth to twin girls at the state’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, made this known in a statement issued on Monday, March 2, 2026, noting that the mother’s identity is being withheld for security reasons.
He said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has directed the State Security Adviser and the Commissioner for Health to ensure the immediate transfer of the mother and her newborns to the State Specialist Hospital for proper medical care and postnatal support.
According to him, both the mother and the babies are in stable condition.
The commissioner recalled that the state government set up the IDP Camp as a temporary rehabilitation facility where rescued kidnapping victims receive treatment and support before reuniting with their families.
He added that the number of victims at the camp has increased significantly due to the success of ongoing security operations across the state.
The government reiterated its commitment to the care and rehabilitation of rescued victims, while praising security agencies for their continued efforts and achievements in tackling criminal activities in Kogi State.
