Senate President Godswill Akpabio has filed a ₦200 billion defamation lawsuit against Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, over claims related to alleged sexual harassment.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan confirmed the development in a Facebook post on Friday.
“Today, the 5th of December 2025, I received a newly instituted ₦200 billion suit from Senator Godswill Akpabio, accusing me of defamation over sexual harassment allegations,” she wrote.
She described the lawsuit as a welcome development, stating that it finally gives her the chance to present her side of the story — an opportunity she said the Senate had previously denied.
“Now, I am pleased that Senator Akpabio has brought this to court because the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges refused to grant me an audience on the matter. They claimed that since Akpabio’s wife had already filed a defamation case against me, the committee could not entertain an issue that was before the court,” she added.
