The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, has died at a hospital in Egypt, where he had been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.
Zuru passed away on Monday night after a period of illness, according to sources close to the Kebbi State Government, although details surrounding his condition remain unclear.
The late lawmaker, who represented Zuru Constituency, was known as an experienced legislator and a prominent figure within the state’s assembly.
An aide to the governor on Communication and Strategy, Idris Zuru, described the development as shocking.
