Media personality Dele Momodu has criticized First Lady Remi Tinubu for publicly admonishing Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over singing for an extended period during a public event.
The incident occurred at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, where the first lady was present and also received a chieftaincy title.
In a now-viral video, Governor Adeleke took the stage to deliver his speech, beginning with a song of praise to God. After singing one Christian song in thanksgiving, the first lady approached him at the podium, asking him to stop singing and proceed with his speech. Adeleke continued singing, prompting her to approach him a second time, this time warning that she would have the microphone turned off if he did not stop.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion among Nigerians.
In a post shared on social media, Momodu who is a close associate with Governor Adeleke, expressed his displeasure over her action, He wondered if she would have cautioned a Northern governor if he was the one reciting qur’anic verses. Read his post below

1. This latest tirade against an elected Governor was totally beneath her for several reasons:
She’s not an elected officer of government and has no role assigned to her in the Constitution of the Federal Republic. It is totally repugnant to openly disgrace, insult, and bully the Chief Executive of Osun State before a global audience, including his own wife. She went too far.
2. It is unbelievable that a self-professed Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God would frown at a Governor praising God. Her Church should be very embarrassed.
3. Would she have tried this with a Northern Governor reciting the Holy Koran before a speech?
4. Why does she think her family owns Nigeria and can publicly go on rampage as she wishes.
5. Many commentators have said she was lucky that Governor Ademola Adeleke is a perfect gentleman.
