Seun Kuti, Peter Okoye reconcile after feud over 2023 elections

Nigerian musicians Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the former P-Square duo, have reconciled after the public disagreement that followed the 2023 general elections.

The two artistes had clashed over their opposing views on the presidential ambition of Peter Obi, who was the Labour Party’s candidate at the time. The dispute escalated when Kuti described Obi as an “opportunist,” a remark that drew a sharp response from Okoye, who questioned Kuti’s relevance and achievements in the music industry.

Their exchange quickly spilled onto social media, turning into a heated and widely followed confrontation among fans. The disagreement, rooted in political differences, generated significant public attention at the time.

However, recent developments show that the duo have put the feud behind them. Seun Kuti and Mr P were spotted together at a nightclub in Lagos, where they embraced and appeared to have resolved their differences.

A video of the moment, now circulating online, captured Kuti telling Okoye, “We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” a sentiment Okoye agreed with, marking an end to their long-standing rift.
